Climate Emergency & Nature Recovery Standing Committee.
Our Climate Emergency & Nature Recovery Standing Committee consists of Eight members of Full Council plus five external representatives from key organisations including the Environment Agency, Extinction Rebellion, Friends of the Earth, Shropshire Wildlife Fund the Shropshire Climate Action Partnership. Following the declaration of Climate Emergency Resolution on 26 March 2019, the overall purpose of this advisory group is to provide strategic direction to the climate emergency activities of the Town Council and the wider community.

The Town Council’s decision to declare a Climate Emergency in 2019 and Our commitment to carbon neutrality.
On the 25th of March 2019 Full Council declared a Climate Emergency with a pledge to make the Council carbon neutral by 2030. After declaring the Climate Emergency an action plan was developed considering our operations and day to day activities. The emergency was declared as there is little time to waste, and we desire to meet our responsibilities to public and environmental health in the most effective and efficient ways that we can.
